Turtle Cookies Recipe

Turtle cookies are chewy chocolate cookies with pecans, caramel, and chocolate chips. Pecan turtle cookies with melting chocolate and caramel drizzles. Impress everyone with these simple chocolate caramel pecan cookies. 

-1 cup chopped pecans -1 cup soft caramel candies, -1 cup chocolate chips -1 cup unsalted butter -2 cups purpose flour -2 teaspoons cornstarch -¾ teaspoon baking soda -½ teaspoon salt -¾ cup  light brown sugar


-¾ cup  light brown sugar -¾ cup  granulated sugar -1 teaspoon vanilla extract -1 large egg, -1 large egg yolk, -½ cup cocoa powder

Stir chopped pecans, chocolate chips, and caramel candy in a small bowl. One cup of mix for cookie topping. I keep 22 caramels, pecans, and chocolate chips to decorate cookies before baking.

Mix flour, baking soda, cornstarch, and salt in another bowl.  Mix cooled melted butter, light brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a large bowl. Mix in the egg, egg yolk, vanilla, and cocoa powder.

Add dry ingredients to wet until barely combined. Stir in remaining pecans, caramels, and chocolate chips. Cover and chill cookie dough for 30–60 minutes before baking.

Scoop 2 teaspoons (30 ml) of chocolate turtle cookie dough into a ball with a medium cookie scoop, roll it in the reserved cup of pecans, chocolate, and caramel bits.

And place the balls 3 inches (8 cm) apart on the lined baking sheet.  Bake cookies for 9–11 minutes at 375 F (190 C) until edges are crisp and centers are slightly puffed.

Pack turtle cookies airtight. Keep at room temperature for 5 days.  If you want to keep cookies longer, freeze them.
